This public course is aimed at people taking on the role of a stand-by person or site supervisor who will need to understand the principles of gas detection including legal responsibilities, permit requirements, equipment use and how to interpret the results of an atmospheric test. People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of atmospheric testing in potentially hazardous environments; conduct atmospheric tests; and interpret and respond to atmospheric testing results.
Unit standard 25510 Operate atmospheric testing device to determine a suitable atmosphere exists to work safely - level 3, credits 4.
This course can be delivered as part of the two day Confined Space - Intermediate course, code CS2.
We recommend refresher training at least every two years.
