A Heru is a traditional ornamental comb of the Maori of New Zealand. They were carved from a solid piece of either wood or whalebone. They were used by men to fasten their long hair up into top knots.
The Tiki represents the human form and one's ancestors. Traditionally passed from parent to child or used for protection and good luck.
