Unleash your creativity with SolarFast Dye - Jacquard Sepia 111 (118.29ml), an innovative photo-reactive dye that transforms under the power of sunlight. This remarkable dye is designed for artists and crafters looking to create unique and permanent designs on fabric and paper. When exposed to UV light, SolarFast Dye develops stunning sepia tones, perfect for making detailed photographs, striking photograms, and captivating shadow-prints. The process is simple: apply the dye with a brush, sponge, or squeegee, then expose your creation to sunlight. In just minutes, you can watch your artistic vision come to life as the dye reveals intricate patterns and textures. Whether you're tie-dyeing, screen printing, or engaging in mixed media art, SolarFast Dye provides a versatile solution that is soft to the touch and doesn’t alter the texture of your surfaces. Ideal for natural fibers like cotton, silk, and linen, this eco-friendly dye eliminates the need for heat setting or chemicals. Elevate your next project with the unique capabilities of SolarFast Dye - Jacquard Sepia, where the sun is your canvas!
SolarFast dyes only develop color and become permanent upon exposure to sunlight (UV). This unique property means SolarFast may be used to create remarkably detailed photographs, photograms and shadow-prints on paper or fabric by harnessing the power of the sun! Anything you place on the painted surface to block the light will create a printed impression in a matter of minutes, whether a solid object (toys, tools, plants, lace, etc.), a photographic negative (an image digitally printed onto a transparency)* or shadow (from folds in the fabric or a 3D object). SolarFast dyes are also great for painting, tie dyeing, screen printing, stamping, batik and more”no heat setting, chemical or steam fixing necessary. The dye leaves fabric completely soft to the touch. On paper, it has zero relief and will not affect the texture of the surface whatsoever, making it a powerful tool for mixed-media arts.
How is it used?
Apply SolarFast to fabric or paper using a brush, sponge, brayer or squeegee. While still damp, expose the design to sunlight and watch the color magically appear!
Place objects on the coated surface prior to exposing to block development and create photograms. Any object that casts a shadow will create an image.
Use a film negative to create permanent photographs on paper or fabric. Prints are washable and lightfast.
FABRIC/FIBER/SURFACES
all natural fibers, including: cotton, linen, canvas, silk, hemp, wood, rag papers and more
