Unlock your creativity with SolarFast Dye - Jacquard Blue 107 (118.29ml), the revolutionary dye that transforms your fabric and paper projects into stunning works of art. This innovative blue dye reacts to sunlight (UV), allowing you to create detailed photographs, striking photograms, and unique shadow-prints effortlessly. Whether you're designing custom fabrics or making impressive artwork, SolarFast Dye harnesses the pure power of the sun to bring your imagination to life.

SolarFast dyes only develop color and become permanent upon exposure to sunlight (UV). This unique property means SolarFast may be used to create remarkably detailed photographs, photograms and shadow-prints on paper or fabric by harnessing the power of the sun! Anything you place on the painted surface to block the light will create a printed impression in a matter of minutes, whether a solid object (toys, tools, plants, lace, etc.), a photographic negative (an image digitally printed onto a transparency)* or shadow (from folds in the fabric or a 3D object). SolarFast dyes are also great for painting, tie dyeing, screen printing, stamping, batik and more”no heat setting, chemical or steam fixing necessary. The dye leaves fabric completely soft to the touch. On paper, it has zero relief and will not affect the texture of the surface whatsoever, making it a powerful tool for mixed-media arts.

How is it used?

Apply SolarFast to fabric or paper using a brush, sponge, brayer or squeegee. While still damp, expose the design to sunlight and watch the color magically appear!

Place objects on the coated surface prior to exposing to block development and create photograms. Any object that casts a shadow will create an image.

Use a film negative to create permanent photographs on paper or fabric. Prints are washable and lightfast.
