This electrical solder is a 50/50 alloy (50 percent tin, 50 percent lead). It has a higher melting point than 60/40 but less than lead free solder. 60/40 has slightly better electrical conductivity, tensile strength and shear strength over 50/50 but 50/50’s main benefit is that it will become solid in a shorter amount of time. This can be helpful in preventing it from flowing away from where it is placed (e.g. on vertical surfaces).
This 70g solder comes on a plastic spool, however is also available in a storage tube of 25g (PES2325G).
