Based on the Classic Stanley Bedrock design, this is the standard-size smoothing plane. Blade is made from extra-thick 1/8 in. O1 steel for excellent edge retention and solid chatter-free cutting. The blade is ground with a 25° bevel and bedded at 45° with the bevel down. The hardwood front knob and rear handle provide excellent control and comfort. The Jorgensen No.4 smooth plane is ideal for general smoothing, finish work and trimming parts. Heavy gauge (3mm) Pro O1 Steel blade is more durable and provides a solid cut with minimal vibration. Ductile iron is far stronger and more resilient. Stress relieving metal ensures the machined casting will stay flat over time.
