Bone Toki Pendant With Tiki Face

$72.95

Bone Toki Pendant with Tiki Face

Size (mm): 95 L x 37 W

This bone carving is a beautiful piece of Māori jewelry. This design shows a Tiki face. The area above the Tiki has been stained to add contrast and another layer of beauty. The binding is tight, which is paramount for a long-lasting Toki. This Māori necklace comes with a black wax cord. The height that the pendant hangs at can be adjusted using the sliding knots. Each carving is supplied loose in a cellophane bag. Each piece is individually carved so slight variations can occur.

The Adze or Toki symbolizes strength as it represents the traditional Māori tool, whose blade had to be strong so as not to break when used.

The Tiki represents the human form and one's ancestors. Traditionally passed from parent to child or used for protection and good luck.
