The product is extremely easy to use, simply apply it directly from the jar using a palette knife to spread onto the surface and allow to dry for 24 hours. These products should be applied over primed surfaces. The thicker the layer applied, the larger the fragments generated and the space between them will be. By using the product in small quantities, you can also simulate these effects on painted surfaces exposed to the elements for long periods of time, such as abandoned vehicles, structure and more.

The variety of colours available makes painting the surface unnecessary. Once the Quake Crackle Creator is dry, you can apply any type of paint or weathering product including acrylics, enamels, and lacquers.
