Visual Diaries for Drawing, Sketching & Creative Work:

Visual diaries provide a dedicated space for sketching, drawing, layouts, drafts and other creative work. This collection includes artist visual diaries from DAS, Winsor & Newton and Jasart, with a choice of hardbound, spiral-bound and single-wire formats. Sizes range from compact A6 visual diaries through A5 and A4 to larger A3 books, making it easier to choose a format suited to the way you work.

110gsm Visual Diaries in A3, A4, A5 & A6:

The DAS range includes spiral-bound visual diaries in A3, A4, A5 and A6 sizes, each with 60 sheets of 110gsm paper. For those who prefer a more substantial book, there is also a DAS A4 hardback visual diary with 110 sheets of 110gsm paper.

Choosing the size depends largely on how and where you plan to use your visual diary. A3 provides more working area for larger drawings and layouts, while A4 offers a versatile everyday format. A5 and A6 options are more compact for smaller sketches and creative notes.

Winsor & Newton Hardbound Visual Diaries:

Winsor & Newton visual diaries are represented in A4 and A5 hardbound formats. These FSC-certified books contain 60 sheets of 110gsm paper and are suitable for pastel, calligraphy, coloured pencils, gel pencils, gel pens and general creative work. Their hardbound construction provides an alternative to the wire and spiral-bound books elsewhere in the collection.

Jasart Single-Wire Visual Diaries:

The Jasart single-wire visual diary uses 110gsm acid-free cartridge paper and is designed for everyday personal and classroom use, including sketching, layouts and drafts. The range includes FSC-certified options, adding another binding style to consider alongside the DAS spiral and Winsor & Newton hardbound books.

Choosing a Visual Diary:

Start with size, then consider binding and sheet count. Larger A3 and A4 visual diaries suit work requiring more page space, while A5 and A6 are useful when portability matters. Spiral and wire bindings are practical for frequently turning pages, while hardbound visual diaries provide a traditional book-style format.
