Mechanical Pencils for Writing, Drafting & Drawing:

This mechanical pencils collection spans everyday writing pencils, technical drafting models, compact designs and premium writing instruments, together with replacement leads and erasers. Brands represented include Pentel, LAMY, Uni, Schneider, BIC, Paper Mate, Milan, Filofax, Scripto and Okin, giving shoppers options for school, office work, note-taking, drawing and precision drafting.

0.5mm & 0.7mm Mechanical Pencils:

Lead size is one of the most useful ways to narrow the range. Many pencils use 0.5mm lead, including Pentel, Uni and Schneider models designed for fine writing and detailed work. The Schneider 565, for example, combines 0.5mm HB lead with a retractable lead tube and integrated push-button eraser.

For a slightly broader line, there is an extensive choice of 0.7mm mechanical pencils. Options include BIC Matic and Paper Mate Profile multipacks, Uni and Pentel models, plus premium LAMY and compact Filofax designs. Replacement Uni HB leads are available in both 0.5mm and 0.7mm sizes.

Drafting & Specialist Mechanical Pencils:

Pentel drafting pencils form an important part of the collection. Selected XA315 and XA317 models use a 4mm fixed sleeve for drafting, template work and general writing, along with an ergonomic rubber grip, metal pocket clip and covered eraser.

For heavier graphite work, the range extends beyond standard fine leads to Milan mechanical pencils using 1.3mm 2B and 5.2mm B leads. Replacement 5.2mm leads are also represented.

Premium & Compact Mechanical Pencils:

LAMY makes up a substantial premium segment, with Safari, AL-star, Logo, cp1, 2000, Scala and Imporium mechanical pencils in different finishes and colours. The collection also includes Scripto ballpoint and mechanical pencil sets.

For planners and compact stationery kits, the Filofax Mini measures 107mm long, takes 0.7mm replacement lead and has a textured lower barrel for grip.

Choosing the Right Mechanical Pencil:

For fine notes or detailed drafting, consider a 0.5mm pencil; for general-purpose writing, a 0.7mm model provides a useful alternative. Technical users can look for fixed drafting sleeves, while artists wanting broader, darker marks can compare the larger 1.3mm and 5.2mm Milan options.
