Jacquard Acid Dyes for Wool, Silk & Nylon:

Jacquard Acid Dyes are concentrated powdered hot-water dyes developed for colouring silk, wool, feathers, other protein fibres and nylon. This collection is tightly focused on Jacquard’s newer 14.17g acid dye colours and a coordinated Neon Colour Set, with vivid shades including Aqua Tropic, Crocodile Green, Blacklight Blue, Vivid Violet, Magenta and fluorescent yellow, orange and red.

Bright, Fluorescent & Neon Acid Dyes:

Colour intensity is central to this particular Jacquard Acid Dye range. Individual 14.17g jars include Fluorescent Yellow, Fluorescent Orange and Fluorescent Red alongside saturated shades such as Magenta, Vivid Violet, Blacklight Blue, Crocodile Green and Aqua Tropic.

For projects requiring several high-impact colours, the Neon Colour Set contains six 14.17g jars: Hot Fuchsia, Chartreuse, Fluorescent Yellow, Fluorescent Orange, Fluorescent Red and Blacklight Blue. This provides a coordinated selection rather than requiring each neon shade to be chosen individually.

Dyes for Protein Fibres & Nylon:

Jacquard Acid Dyes are intended for compatible materials including wool, silk, feathers, other protein fibres and nylon. They are highly concentrated powdered dyes designed for hot-water immersion dyeing, producing level, uniform colour.

The products can also be used for direct painting and printing applications when steam set. Despite the name “acid dye”, the acidic component used in the dye bath is added separately in the form of white vinegar or citric acid.

Choosing Jacquard Acid Dye:

Before selecting a colour, first confirm that your fibre is suitable for acid dyeing. These products are specifically intended for protein fibres and nylon, so they should not be treated as universal fabric dyes.

For a single-colour project, choose an individual 14.17g jar according to the shade required. If you want to work across several fluorescent and vivid colours, the six-colour Neon Set provides a practical starting palette. Jacquard’s broader acid dye range also includes 40 colours in 14.17g jars, with selected colours produced in larger 230g and 450g tubs.
