Ecoglo Stair Nosing – Photoluminescent Anti-Slip Stair Nosings:

Ecoglo stair nosings combine photoluminescent step-edge visibility with anti-slip protection for stairways and building escape routes. The range at Smartfox NZ includes Ecoglo F14 and F15 step nosings in lengths from 800mm to 1500mm, designed for installation on different stair surfaces and step-edge conditions.

These high-visibility stair nosings feature silicon carbide anti-slip inserts and photoluminescent strips to help people identify stair edges during normal use and when lighting is reduced.

Ecoglo F14 Stair Nosings:

The Ecoglo F14 series is designed for level steps with minimal edge damage. Featuring a 75mm x 10mm profile, these stair nosings provide a low-profile solution for marking and protecting stair edges.

F14 models are available in 100mm length increments, allowing selection according to stair width. The combination of slip-resistant material and glow-in-the-dark step markings makes them suitable for building escape routes requiring enhanced stair visibility.

Ecoglo F15 Stair Nosings:

The Ecoglo F15 series features a deeper 75mm x 33mm profile, making it particularly suitable for uneven steps or stair edges with existing damage.

Like the F14 range, F15 nosings incorporate a silicon carbide anti-slip surface and a custom photoluminescent strip. The range includes lengths from 800mm to 1500mm, offering options for different staircase dimensions.

Installation Surfaces and Safety Features:

Ecoglo F14 and F15 stair nosings are designed for installation on various substrates, including concrete, timber, tiles, vinyl, steel and checker plate.

Both series are supplied pre-drilled with fixings and feature concealed fasteners. Their anti-slip surfaces have been tested to AS/NZS 4586 classifications, while photoluminescent visibility has been independently tested in accordance with UL1994.

The products are designed to support visibility requirements under New Zealand Building Code Clause F6 for escape routes.

Choosing the Right Ecoglo Stair Nosing:

When comparing Ecoglo stair nosings, consider the condition of the existing stair edge, required length and installation surface.

Choose the F14 profile for relatively level, undamaged steps, or consider the deeper F15 profile where stair edges are uneven or damaged. Measure each stair tread carefully and review the product dimensions before selecting a length.

For commercial buildings, emergency escape routes and stairway safety upgrades, check the relevant building requirements and individual product specifications to ensure the selected Ecoglo nosing is appropriate for the installation.
