Butt Hinges for Doors, Cabinets & Joinery:

Butt hinges provide a compact, traditional pivot for doors, cupboards and other hinged joinery. This collection includes steel and brass butt hinges in a variety of sizes, finishes and pin configurations, with options for new installations, repairs and replacement hardware.

Fixed Pin & Loose Pin Butt Hinges:

Pin type is an important distinction within the range. Fixed-pin butt hinges include steel models with fixed brass pins, providing a permanently retained pin within the hinge. Loose-pin designs are also available, including zinc-plated steel butt hinges with removable brass pins.

Sizes represented include compact 50mm hinges through to larger 65mm, 75mm and 90mm models. Narrow-profile hinges are available across several of these sizes, giving you options for different door and joinery requirements.

Steel, Brass & Different Finishes:

Steel butt hinges form a substantial part of the collection. Zinc-plated models provide a clean silver-toned finish, while Florentine bronze hinges offer a darker traditional appearance. Selected steel hinges combine the steel leaves with brass hinge pins.

For applications where a solid brass hinge is preferred, the range also includes extruded brass butt hinges with polished brass finishes. A 50mm polished brass model, for example, measures 30mm wide when opened flat and uses a fixed pin.

Semi-Concealed & Non-Mortice Hinges:

Alongside conventional butt hinges, the collection includes a 45mm semi-concealed bent-leaf hinge. This steel hinge has a fixed steel pin and Florentine bronze finish and uses a non-mortice design, meaning cuts do not need to be made into the timber to attach the hinge.

Choosing the Right Butt Hinge:

When replacing an existing hinge, check the height and overall width as well as the screw-hole arrangement and finish. For a new installation, consider the door or panel dimensions and whether you require a fixed or loose pin.

Material and finish should also suit the application. Compare zinc-plated steel, Florentine bronze and polished brass options, and check whether a standard morticed butt hinge or a non-mortice design is appropriate for the project.
