BLOCKX Artist Paints – Watercolour, Oil, Acrylic & Pastels:

BLOCKX artist paints in this collection cover an extensive range of professional-quality colour across watercolour, oil paint, acrylic paint and soft pastels. With more than 600 products, the range provides individual colours in multiple formats, from watercolour half pans and 15ml tubes to 20ml and 35ml oil colours and larger acrylic tubes.

BLOCKX Watercolour Paints:

Watercolour is particularly extensive, with individual colours available in half pans and 15ml tubes. The palette covers traditional earth colours and primary shades alongside cadmiums, quinacridones, cobalt colours and distinctive greens, blues, reds and violets.

BLOCKX watercolours are handmade in Belgium using finely ground, light-resistant pigments with gum arabic and honey. The honey is used to enhance brilliance and luminosity while supporting the stability of the colour. Individual paints are identified by colour name, series, pigment code and opacity, making it easier for experienced watercolour artists to compare specific pigments.

BLOCKX Oil Paints:

BLOCKX oil colours include extra-fine paints in 20ml and 35ml tubes, with shades ranging from Ivory Black, Natural Umber and Transparent Mars Yellow to Cobalt Blue, Quinacridone Magenta and Cobalt Chromite Green.

The oils are highly concentrated and made primarily from pure single pigments without fillers or bulking agents. They are ground with linseed oil to create a structured consistency that can be mixed and worked directly on the canvas. Individual colours specify their pigment code and whether they are transparent, semi-transparent, semi-opaque or opaque.

BLOCKX Acrylic Paints & Soft Pastels:

The collection also extends into BLOCKX acrylic colours, including 120ml tubes, and individual soft pastels. These formats provide alternatives for artists who prefer faster-drying acrylic painting or dry pastel techniques while retaining the broad BLOCKX colour selection.

Choosing BLOCKX Artist Colours:

Start by selecting your painting medium, then compare colour, pigment code, opacity and format. Watercolour painters can choose between portable half pans and 15ml tubes, while oil painters can select different tube sizes and pigment series. For artists building a precise palette, the detailed pigment information makes it possible to choose colours according to their individual mixing and painting requirements.
