Jacquard Basic Dyes for Acrylic Fibres & Craft Materials:
Jacquard Basic Dyes are highly concentrated dyes designed for materials that can be difficult to colour with conventional fabric dyes. This collection focuses on Jacquard Basic Dye powders in 14.17g packs, with a broad palette ranging from classic black, red, blue and yellow through to turquoise, purple, pink, orange, green, golden yellow, crystal violet and malachite.
Dye for Acrylic Fibres, Faux Fur & Wigs:
These basic dyes are particularly suited to acrylic fibres, including faux fur, synthetic wigs and inexpensive acrylic yarn. Their strong colour intensity also makes them useful for cosplay projects where bold colour is required on materials that may not respond well to other types of dye.
Basic Dyes for Wood, Paper, Leather & More:
The range extends well beyond acrylic fibre dyeing. Jacquard Basic Dyes can also be used to colour wood, reeds, straw, hemp, paper and leather, making them suitable for a variety of art, craft and decorative applications. Uses represented across the range include colouring potpourri, dolls, buttons and furniture, as well as other creative projects involving porous or hard-to-dye surfaces.
Basic Dye can be applied by dip-dyeing or brushed directly onto suitable materials. It can also be combined with Piñata Claro Extender to create custom alcohol ink colours.
Choosing a Jacquard Basic Dye Colour:
All dyes in this collection come in the same compact 14.17g format, so choosing primarily comes down to the colour required for your project. The selection includes both familiar primary and neutral shades and more distinctive tones such as crystal violet, malachite and turquoise.
Basic Dyes are valued for producing particularly vibrant, intense colour, but they can have limited lightfastness and washfastness on fabrics. For textile projects, they are therefore most useful when working with fibres such as acrylic where another dye type may not be suitable.
