Artgecko Sketchbooks, Sketchpads & Art Paper:

Artgecko sketchbooks and sketchpads cover much more than everyday drawing paper, with formats designed for sketching, markers, watercolour, acrylic, tracing and other creative techniques. The collection includes bound sketchbooks and journals alongside specialist Artgecko Pro pads, with sizes ranging from compact A6 and square formats through to A2.

Sketchbooks for Drawing & Everyday Creativity:

The Classy range uses 150gsm white paper and includes portrait and landscape sketchbooks in multiple sizes. Casebound options contain 46 sheets, while other Classy sketchbooks contain 40 sheets. Swanky Sketch Journals provide 62 sheets of 150gsm white paper in A4 and A5 formats.

For artists who prefer working on a dark surface, Shady sketchbooks and Pro Toned pads feature 200gsm black paper or card. These are available in formats including A4, A3 and 300mm square, with smaller 148 x 148mm toned sketch tiles also represented.

Marker, Watercolour & Acrylic Pads:

Artgecko Pro Marker Sketchpads use 250gsm acid-free white cartridge paper with a light surface, including A3 and A4 options. The Freestyle A4 sketchbook takes a different approach with 250gsm white hybrid paper combining characteristics of bleedproof marker paper and Bristol board. Its twin-wire binding allows the book to lie flat.

For watercolour, the range includes A3 and A4 Pro Watercolour Sketchpads with 20 sheets of 300gsm acid-free white cartridge paper and a medium surface. Watercolour postcards and 148mm square watercolour sketch tiles provide smaller alternatives. Acrylic artists can choose dedicated Pro Acrylic Sketchpads with 240gsm white paper.

Specialist Art Paper Pads:

The collection also includes 90gsm tracing pads, 250gsm Bristol board pads and 150gsm all-media sketchpads, providing more specific surfaces for different techniques and projects.

Choosing an Artgecko Sketchpad:

Start with your medium, then consider paper weight, surface and size. Choose 300gsm watercolour paper for water-based painting, dedicated marker or hybrid paper for marker work, black toned paper for artwork that benefits from a dark ground, or 150gsm white paper for general sketching. Format matters too: portrait, landscape, square and postcard-sized options allow you to match the working surface to the type of artwork you create.
