Artgecko Sketch Journals, Sketchbooks & Art Pads:

Artgecko sketch journals and sketchbooks provide a choice of paper surfaces, weights and formats for drawing, painting, mixed media and creative work. The range extends from portable A6 and A5 sketchbooks to A4, A3 and A2 formats, alongside square sketch tiles, specialist art pads and watercolour postcards.

Artgecko Swanky Sketch Journals:

The Swanky Sketch Journal range includes A4 and A5 portrait books containing 62 sheets (124 pages) of 150gsm acid-free premium white cartridge paper. The medium surface is suitable for a variety of art media, including pencil, ink and pastels, as well as light watercolour washes.

Swanky journals feature a soft, textured limp-bound cover with rounded corners. The flexible cover has a wipe-clean surface, while the paper is FSC certified.

Classy, Shady & Freestyle Sketchbooks:

Artgecko Classy sketchbooks use 150gsm white paper and come in portrait, landscape and casebound formats. Sizes across the collection range from compact A6 books through to an A2 landscape sketchbook.

For artwork on a darker ground, Shady sketchbooks contain 200gsm black toned card, with A4, A3 and 300mm square options represented. The Freestyle A4 sketchbook instead uses 250gsm white hybrid paper, providing another surface choice for artists working with different techniques.

Specialist Artgecko Pads:

The collection also includes Artgecko Pro sketchpads designed around particular media. Options include 300gsm watercolour paper, 240gsm acrylic paper, 250gsm marker paper, 250gsm Bristol board, 200gsm black toned card and 90gsm tracing paper. All Media pads use 150gsm white paper, while smaller formats include watercolour postcards and square sketch tiles.

Choosing an Artgecko Sketch Journal or Pad:

Choose according to both your preferred medium and working size. A Swanky or Classy book is a versatile option for general sketching and creative journalling, while dedicated watercolour, acrylic, marker or toned pads provide paper selected for more specific techniques. Landscape and square formats can also be useful when the proportions of a standard portrait sketchbook do not suit the composition you have in mind.
