Magnapaulia Figurine CollectA XL

$28.70
Size: 20.5x9.3

Diet: Herbivorous

Period: Upper Cretaceous

Meaning: Large Paul

Fun Facts:  Magnapaulia (Mag-nah-pawl-ee-ah) - A giant lambeosaurine hadrosaur from the Late Cretaceous of Baja California, Mexico. Originally named as a species of Lambeosaurus it was formally assigned its own genus in 2012. This herbivore is estimated to have reached lengths of up to 12–13 metres, making it one of the largest known hadrosaurs. The broad profile of its tail led scientists to suggest that this was an adaptation to help this dinosaur swim indicating that Magnapaulia was well adapted to a coastal environment. Like other lambeosaurines, it had an elaborate crest on its skull, possibly used for display as well as vocalisation. Magnapaulia is among the many hadrosaurs whose fossils preserve skin impressions.
