Bamboo Journals & New Zealand-Inspired Notebooks:

Bamboo journals combine natural materials with distinctive decorative designs, creating notebooks that can be used for writing, sketching, travel memories and personal keepsakes. This collection is specifically focused on bamboo-covered journals, with 90-plus designs spanning compact formats and larger 17.5 x 23cm styles. New Zealand birds, places, cultural motifs and nature-inspired artwork feature prominently throughout the range.

New Zealand Bamboo Journals:

A strong Kiwiana theme runs through the collection. Designs feature native birds and wildlife including tui, kererū, ruru, pīwakawaka/fantail, kororā/penguin and kingfisher, alongside New Zealand motifs such as koru, ponga, hei tiki, hei matau and Aotearoa.

Place-inspired journals provide another distinctive group, with designs referencing Queenstown, Kaikōura, Akaroa, Auckland and Picton. Other styles incorporate Tapa patterns, sheep, butterflies, honeycomb designs, floral artwork and decorative printed animals.

FSC Certified Bamboo & Rimu Veneer Designs:

Many journals use laser-cut FSC certified bamboo covers. Larger designs measuring approximately 175 x 230mm contain 120 pages of 110gsm cartridge paper, while selected small bamboo journals measure 160 x 210mm and contain 110 pages.

The collection also includes River Rimu Veneer bamboo journals. These 17.5 x 23cm designs combine bamboo with rimu veneer and feature New Zealand imagery including tui, turtle, kererū, pīwakawaka, kororā and traditional motifs. Smaller River Rimu Veneer journals are also represented.

Journals for Writing, Sketching & Memories:

The 110gsm cartridge paper used in selected bamboo journals makes them suitable for several purposes rather than writing alone. Product designs are intended for use as travel journals, diaries, sketchbooks, photo albums or everyday notepads. Selected larger journals also allow the internal book to be replaced with an A5 refill.

Choosing a Bamboo Journal:

Consider both size and cover design when choosing. A smaller 160 x 210mm journal provides a more compact format, while the 175 x 230mm versions offer additional page space. For a distinctly New Zealand journal or gift, choose from native birds, local destinations, Māori-inspired motifs and other Kiwiana designs; for something more decorative, look to the printed floral, animal and patterned covers.
