Jacquard Acid Dyes for Wool, Silk & Protein Fibres:
Jacquard Acid Dyes are concentrated powdered dyes formulated for colouring protein fibres and nylon. This collection is dedicated to Jacquard Acid Dye, with an extensive palette of individual 14.17g colours alongside selected colour sets. Designed for hot-water dyeing, these dyes are suitable for wool, silk, cashmere, alpaca, feathers and nylon, making the range particularly relevant for yarn, fibre and fabric dyeing projects.
Acid Dyes for Wool, Silk, Yarn & Fibre:
Jacquard Acid Dyes are designed to produce strong, uniform colour during immersion dyeing. The dye bath uses white vinegar or citric acid to provide the acidic conditions required for the dyeing process.
Beyond immersion dyeing, the products can also be used for direct painting and printing applications when steam set. This provides additional scope for textile artists working with compatible protein fibres and nylon rather than limiting the dyes to conventional all-over fabric colouring.
Extensive Jacquard Colour Range:
Colour choice is a major feature of this collection. The range spans neutrals and darker tones such as Ecru, Silver Grey, Gun Metal, Navy Blue and Jet Black, through to greens and blues including Spruce, Emerald, Teal, Turquoise and Sky Blue.
Warmer and brighter colours include Burnt Orange, Scarlet, Crimson, Burgundy, Fire Red, Cherry Red, Pink and Hot Fuchsia. Purple and violet tones are also represented, alongside newer shades such as Aqua Tropic, Crocodile Green and Vivid Violet.
For particularly bright textile projects, the collection includes fluorescent and neon options such as Fluorescent Yellow, Fluorescent Orange, Fluorescent Red and Blacklight Blue, as well as a Jacquard Acid Dye Neon colour set.
Choosing the Right Acid Dye:
Start by confirming that the material is suitable for acid dyeing. These Jacquard dyes are intended for nylon and protein-based fibres such as wool, silk, cashmere and alpaca rather than being a general-purpose dye for every textile.
Once fibre compatibility is established, choose the shade according to the colour required and follow the dyeing method appropriate to your material and project. Individual 14.17g colours are useful when selecting precise shades, while colour sets provide a convenient option for working with a coordinated group of Jacquard Acid Dyes.
