Cloth Sanding Belts for Metal & Wood:

Cloth sanding belts in this collection cover a broad range of abrasive belt sizes and grit grades for sanding, linishing and surface preparation. The range includes aluminium oxide resin cloth belts, portable cloth belts and zirconia abrasive belts, with widths from 50mm through to 150mm and belt lengths suited to different sanding and linishing machines.

Aluminium Oxide Resin Cloth Belts:

Aluminium oxide belts make up the largest part of the collection. The RBX linishing belts use durable X-weight cloth backing with aluminium oxide abrasive grain and are suitable for sanding both metal and wood.

Available dimensions include 50 x 915mm, 50 x 1220mm, 50 x 2745mm, 100 x 915mm, 100 x 1525mm, 100 x 2745mm and 150 x 1220mm, alongside portable belt formats such as 75 x 457mm, 100 x 533mm and 100 x 560mm. Norton aluminium oxide cloth belts are also represented within the range.

Coarse to Fine Grit Options:

Grit grades across the collection include 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120 grit. Lower grit numbers such as 40 grit provide a coarser abrasive for heavier material removal, while 80, 100 and 120 grit options provide progressively finer abrasion for later stages of sanding and surface preparation.

Because not every belt dimension is offered in every grit, it is important to confirm both the machine size and required abrasive grade.

Zirconia Cloth Sanding Belts:

For more demanding metal applications, the collection also includes zirconia resin cloth belts. The 150 x 1220mm 60-grit zirconia belt uses self-sharpening zirconia alumina abrasive and is designed for stainless steel, metal and heat-sensitive steels. Its open grain distribution helps reduce clogging and supports cooler cutting in high-performance applications.

Choosing the Right Cloth Belt:

Always start by matching the belt width and length to your sanding or linishing machine. Once the dimensions are confirmed, choose the abrasive type and grit according to the material and stage of work. Aluminium oxide provides options for both wood and metal, while the zirconia belt is specifically suited to demanding metal and stainless steel applications.
