This bone carving is a beautiful piece of Maori jewellery. Carved out of beef bone. This Maori necklace is strung on a traditional black wax cord. The height that the pendant hangs at can be adjusted using the sliding knots. Supplied loose in a plastic bag. Each piece is individually carved so slight variations can occur.
The Manaia represents protection against evil. The hook shape is good for catching good fortune.
