The package is notable as it's the first iteration of Airfix's newly developed beginner format, whereby there are slightly fewer components, and some are simplified and reworked to ease construction for young/novice builders. It's the ideal first step in modelling, aimed at easing people into the hobby without denting their confidence during the assembly process... a half-way house between fine detail and 'buildability'.
