Description

Bone Toki Earrings with Tiki Face.

Size (mm): 70 L x 25 W (bone part only)

Approx 96mm total drop length

This bone carving earring is a beautiful piece of Maori jewellery. This design shows a Tiki face. The area above the Tiki has been stained to add contrast and another layer of beauty. Features paua shell accents as the eyes of the Tiki. These Maori earrings have been handcrafted from beef bone. Each carving is supplied on a card in a plastic sleeve. Each piece is individually carved so slight variations can occur.

The Adze or Toki symbolizes strength as it represents the traditional Maori tool, whose blade had to be strong so as not to break when used.

The Tiki represents the human form and one's ancestors. Traditionally passed from parent to child or used for protection and good luck.

Pairs with the 'Bone Toki Pendant with Tiki Face' (BT010) to create a matching set.
